This photo I took of a female Cormorants a type of bird
native to almost every region of the world! I took this
photo while i was paddle boarding i was hoping it wold
start to fly and skim the water. But the photo came out
blurry I shold have had a higher shutter speed. but while I
was waiting for I to fly I took this photo which actually
became one of my favorites!
APERTURE
what is aperture? aperture is the first part of the
exposure triangle. The exposure triangle is essentially
the foundation of photography settings it goes
Aperture Shutterspeed and ISO.But we will talk about
those in later issues this one is about aperture.
Basically aperture is the physical blades in youre lens opening or
closing to let more or less light into youre camera and onto your
camera sensor.
By changing youre aperture you are making youre depthof field more deep or less deep. If i was shooting a
landscape id want a deep aperture EX (f16) but if i was
shooting a portrait (shown on next page) id want
something a little shallower EX (f5.4). To get that blurredbackground with my subject in focus.

This is a landscape photo i took so i used a
larger f number ex (f/16) to get a deeper look!
apeture 2
Notice how my dog Buba is in focus but the background is not.
thats because I used f/5.4. Which has a larger opening and
shallower depth of feild. Unlike the last photo of the lake so thats
better for portraits of people more of thean bulldogs but he gets
the point across well thank him in the coments. But back to
aperture and the exposure triangle.
Adding or taking light away will have an
effect. I cant just have a high aperture and
keep my other settings the same. I need to
adjust all of them to compensate for the less
light coming in from my aperture. by having a
slower shutter speed so my shutter is open
longer. or a more sensitive iso. Its a balance
game you just need to have all of youre
settings right for what you want and you will
have a perfectly exposed photo!
